Catchers are allowed only a small amount of time during practice to become skillful at their position. To become highly successful, catchers must put in the extra time to gain experience behind the dish. This camp is a great way for catchers to get maximum reps over a 6 week period, which will help develop the tools to become a “complete catcher.”
The camp will give ball players a chance to learn the fundamentals behind one of the toughest positions on the field. I will break down the fundamentals behind the plate so each player will feel confident. Players will learn how to set up and give signs correctly, blocking drills to increase quickness, footwork throwing to the bases, and fielding bunts. I will also teach a strength and conditioning workout designed to work the core baseball muscles (legs, back, forearms, rotator cuff, and triceps).
