3. How can I receive more information on upcoming camps?
You can receive more information on upcoming camps by visiting www.p-gap.com, by sending me an email with your name and address, or by visiting www.dupageacademy.com.
4. Where are all lessons and camps held and how do I get there?
All lessons and camps take place at the Dupage Training Academy, located on the southeast corner of North Avenue and President Street in Carol Stream, IL. For detailed directions click here. I am available to travel as long as it is within the Chicagoland area for video analysis. Please call for more information.
5. Will you travel to another facility to work with my team?
I will travel to any location within the Chicagoland area. If you are interested in having me attend one of your teams' practices for video analysis please call 630.728.0503 or send me an email pgapbaseball@yahoo.com.
6. What is your approach to working with young athletes?
Each lesson will be tailored to the age of the athlete. For the younger athlete I incorporate a fun-filled learning environment to keep the player interested. For the older, more experienced athlete, I will focus on the details of technique. With every athlete I will make a point to explore the mental approach to the game of baseball.
7. Am I going to achieve instant success?
Instant success in baseball is unheard of. For a player to achieve success in the game of baseball, it takes hard work. Taking a baseball lesson once a week or every other week is a waste of time and money if the player does not practice in between sessions. The mechanics of throwing a baseball and swinging a bat are learned through repetition. If you are serious about improving your game taking lessons will help, but the player needs to put in the work to achieve their ultimate potential.
8. Can you videotape my swing for a better evaluation?
I use the right view pro video analysis software to analyize player's swings. The Right View Pro Instructional System is the most advanced, the most comprehensive, and most effective product on the market. The Right View Pro enables the instructor to break down the swing into precise segments comparing the swing to the best professional players today.
RVP is the only product licensed by the MLB, MLBPA, and NPF to bring you the best models possible. No training or analysis system is complete without the proof of what all the best players do. The RVP systems provide professional models:
All four views
- Filmed from consistent angles
- 60/ fps (twice as fast as normal video)
- All this adds up to an easy, true, and complete analysis of the motion.
The definition is on the screen.
9. Do I need to bring any equipment?
I supply all the equipment. I bring extra catching gear, bats, and gloves, but I recommend bringing your own gear to ensure comfort.
10. How do I make payments?
For all lessons please make payments in either cash or check made payable to p-gap inc. For camps you may make payments to either myself or the Dupage Training Academy.
11. What am I paying for?
You are paying for instruction in areas of hitting, catching, pitching, or infield. Each player will take with them the ability to work on the specific skill attained during lessons/camps. Parent participation is encouraged.
12. What does p-gap stand for?
P-gap stands for the right center gap. When I was a senior at Illinois State University, I had a number of consecutive hits to the right center gap. Mark Kingston, the assistant coach, deemed the right center gap "p-gap." The "P" in p-gap stands for pieczynski and the "gap" refers to the right center gap. Coach Kingston, who is currently the head assistant at Tulane University, tried to get the entire team to hit to the p-gap. This is now the concept I teach; let the ball get deep and think middle right center. By using this approach the hitter will never get themselves out in front of pitches and will be able to react to inside pitches. Thanks, Coach K. |
